❤️ D&D 5e HP Calculator

Calculate your D&D 5e character's hit points. Select your class, level, and Constitution score to get your average HP total with a full breakdown.

How HP Calculation Works in D&D 5e

At 1st level, your HP equals your hit die maximum plus your Constitution modifier. For each additional level, you add the average of your hit die (rounded up) plus your Constitution modifier. For example, a Fighter (d10) with 14 CON (+2 mod) at level 5 has: 10 + 2 at level 1, then (6 + 2) × 4 = 44 HP total.

Hit Dice by Class

d6: Sorcerer, Wizard. d8: Bard, Cleric, Druid, Monk, Rogue, Warlock. d10: Fighter, Paladin, Ranger. d12: Barbarian. Constitution is the most important stat for survivability since it adds to HP at every level.
