🌡️ Ideal Gas Law Calculator
Solve for pressure, volume, moles, or temperature using the ideal gas law PV = nRT.
The Ideal Gas Law
The ideal gas law PV = nRT relates the pressure (P in atm), volume (V in liters), amount of gas (n in moles), and temperature (T in Kelvin) of an ideal gas. The gas constant R = 0.0821 L·atm/(mol·K). This equation assumes gas molecules have negligible volume and no intermolecular forces.
Standard Temperature and Pressure (STP)
At STP (0°C = 273.15 K and 1 atm), one mole of an ideal gas occupies 22.4 liters. This calculator lets you solve for any of the four variables (P, V, n, or T) given the other three, making it useful for gas stoichiometry and thermodynamics problems.
