🎹 Note Frequency Calculator
Calculate the frequency of any musical note using the standard equal temperament formula: f = 440 × 2^((n-69)/12).
How Note Frequencies Are Calculated
In equal temperament tuning, each semitone is separated by a ratio of 2^(1/12). The reference pitch A4 is defined as 440 Hz. Every other note's frequency is derived from this using the formula f = 440 × 2^((n-69)/12), where n is the MIDI note number.
MIDI note numbers range from 0 (C-1) to 127 (G9). Middle C (C4) is MIDI note 60, and concert A (A4) is MIDI note 69.
