🔑 Password Entropy Calculator
Calculate the entropy (randomness) of a password and estimate its strength against brute-force attacks.
What is Password Entropy?
Password entropy measures the unpredictability of a password. It is calculated as Entropy = Length x log2(Charset Size), where charset size is the number of possible characters. Higher entropy means a stronger password.
Password Strength Guidelines
Security experts recommend passwords with at least 60 bits of entropy. Using a mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols significantly increases the charset size and thus the entropy per character.
