How to Calculate Roofing Materials
Measure the footprint of your roof (length × width) and adjust for pitch using the pitch multiplier. Divide the actual roof area by 100 to get roofing squares. Each square typically requires 3 bundles of shingles. Add 10-15% for waste and hip/ridge caps.
