How Op-Amp Gain Is Calculated
For an inverting op-amp configuration, gain = -Rf/Rin, where Rf is the feedback resistor and Rin is the input resistor. The negative sign indicates phase inversion. For a non-inverting configuration, gain = 1 + Rf/Rin. Gain in decibels is 20 × log10(|gain|).
