How to Calculate Impedance
Impedance in a series RLC circuit is Z = √(R² + (XL - XC)²), where XL = 2πfL is inductive reactance and XC = 1/(2πfC) is capacitive reactance. The phase angle is arctan((XL - XC)/R). When XL equals XC, the circuit is at resonance and impedance equals resistance alone.
