🔧 Pipe Volume Calculator
Calculate the volume of a pipe or cylinder from its diameter and length. Results in gallons, liters, and cubic feet.
How to Calculate Pipe Volume
Pipe volume = π × radius² × length. Convert diameter to radius (divide by 2), then use V = πr²L. To convert cubic inches to gallons, divide by 231 (there are 231 cubic inches in a US gallon). This formula works for any cylindrical container.
Common Pipe Sizes
A 100-foot run of 1″ pipe holds about 4.1 gallons. A 4″ pipe holds about 65.5 gallons per 100 feet. Knowing pipe volume is essential for purging, filling, and chemical treatment calculations in plumbing, irrigation, and industrial piping systems.
