🔄 Resolution Scale Calculator
Scale a resolution by percentage and see the resulting dimensions and total pixel count.
Resolution Scaling
Scaling a resolution by a percentage changes both width and height proportionally, maintaining the aspect ratio. Total pixel count changes by the square of the scale factor. Scaling 4K (3840×2160) to 50% gives 1920×1080 (1080p), with only 25% of the original pixel count.
Common Scale Factors
Render scaling in games often uses 67% or 75% to reduce GPU load while maintaining reasonable quality. For thumbnails, 10-25% is common. When upscaling for print, 150-200% may be needed depending on the target DPI.
